Earlier Pregnancy and Prenatal Nutritional vitamins

If you are usually pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, you probably know it is important to get plenty of folic acid.

Folic acid allows you reduce brain along with spinal defects with your baby, especially with early pregnancy. What you possibly will not know is how important it can be to take multivitamins, as well.

A report, recently published inside medical journal Cancer Epidemiology Biomarkers along with Prevention, noted the value of taking multivitamins if trying to conceive or recently pregnant. Their research concluded that women who take multivitamins in early on pregnancy reduced his or her child’s risk of developing certain mind tumors.

Researchers found that girls taking multivitamins close to the time they developed had babies who were less likely to produce medulloblastoma and ancient neuroectodermal brain growths. Brain tumors are usually fairly rare with children, occurring with 1 in 20, 000 kids under age six. Medulloblastoma would be the second most popular brain tumor with children.

Curiously, taking a multivitamin through the later stages of pregnancy would not significantly reduce your infant’s risk of developing brain growths.

This makes it all too clear that should you be trying to conceive, you should begin to take your multivitamins without delay. Then continue using the approval of your doctor at least over the early stages of the pregnancy.

Women are strongly urged to decide on a multivitamin together with 400 micrograms of folic acid. Reproductive women should eat a good diet with plenty of vitamins and folic acid.

When choosing your vitamin, check their vitamin A content. Never take in excess of 770 micrograms of Vitamin A. An excessive amount can cause birth defects in children.

You should also look about the label for your letters USP. This means the vitamin have been evaluated and satisfies certain criteria because of the U. S. Pharmacopeia Corporation. Vitamins with the USP stamp include certain standardized amounts of purity, safety, top quality and content.

Your OB/GYN will let you choose a pre-natal vitamin before you even get with child. So good luck should you be trying to have a baby, and take that multivitamin for both you and your baby!
